ARRI today announced the Orbiter Beam full-color LED spotlight. The product is the first beam optic in the ARRI LED lighting portfolio, and showcases a new optical concept.
The Orbiter Beam’s strength level is comparable to the ARRI Daylight M series. This spotlight also sustains a tighter beam angle with output comparable to the ARRI Daylight M Series M18. The light’s high intensity values are the first to be achieved with a high-quality full-color spectrum LED light source.
The Orbiter Beam is suitable for cinematic applications and provides homogeneous light with a 4° parallel beam. This makes it an ideal option for creating the illusion of distant natural light. The Orbiter Beam’s unique and authentic look, combined with the versatile Orbiter fixtures, makes it the perfect choice for filmmakers to simulate sun and moon light for their film projects.
This spotlight has quite a large diameter, but is also compact (approximately 573mm x 548mm x 548mm) and lightweight (5.9kg). The diameter of the reflector is 530mm, similar in size to the M90 luminaire. The reflector and other accessories can be easily separated and stacked for convenient storage and transport.
In addition, the unique manual hotspot adjustment function allows gaffers to freely adjust the light from hard to soft.
The Orbiter Beam is designed to be a perfect addition to existing Orbiter Open Face optics (lineup includes15°, 30°, and 60°). No additional accessories, such as barn doors or snoots are required for the Orbiter Beam.
The Orbiter Beam’s unique Quick Lighting Mount (QLM) system allows the ARRI Orbiter Beam to be installed safely and quickly. ARRI Orbiter Beam is equipped with the latest firmware from ARRI.
