NiSi unveiled the AUREUS PRIME T1.4 Cinema Lens Series, a full-frame lens system designed for modern cinematography. Built for reliability and refined image quality, AUREUS PRIME suits everything from cinema and TV productions to documentaries and commercial work.

The NiSi AUREUS PRIME T1.4 launches with five focal lengths—18mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm—each lens features a T1.4 aperture, 46mm image circle, and compact, uniform housing for efficient workflow. Additional focal lengths—29mm, 65mm, and 105mm—will come in the future, according to NiSi.

NiSi AUREUS PRIME T1.4 Features

CINEMATIC optics & T1.4 aperture

The NiSi AUREUS PRIME T1.4 comes engineered for full-frame and large-format sensors. AUREUS PRIME offers strong low- light performance and a smooth, rounded bokeh. The T1.4 aperture enables precise depth control, while the 11-blade iris ensures natural background blur. Sharpness and contrast remain consistent from T1.4 to T22.

Precision optical design

With ultra-low dispersion elements, AUREUS PRIME minimizes chromatic aberration, distortion, and color fringing. Advanced coatings reduce flare and ghosting, preserving contrast and neutral color rendering for cleaner images.

Smooth control, minimizing focus breathing

Designed to minimize focus breathing, these lenses maintain stable composition during focus pulls. A 300° focus throw provides precise, repeatable manual control, essential for high-resolution cinematography.

Consistency in the build

Each lens shares a 90mm front diameter, 86mm filter thread, and an average weight of 1300g, streamlining swaps without rebalancing. Identical focus and aperture ring positions enhance rig compatibility, while glow-in-the-dark markings improve usability in low-light settings.

The lenses ship with interchangeable focus scales (feet or meters) to accommodate different team preferences. Each scale is user-changeable using a simple tool—no servicing required. (Sold Separately)

The minimum close focus on the 18mm is 0.25 m.

Rear Filter Mount

A built-in rear filter holder supports ND, diffusion, and creative filters—ideal for drone, gimbal, or handheld setups where weight and balance are crucial.

The series is available in PL mount, with flange distances from 16.1mm to 19.8mm, ensuring compatibility with major PL-mount cameras and adapters.

PAIRS WITH NiSi ATHENA PRIME

The AUREUS PRIME series complements NiSi’s ATHENA PRIME lenses, sharing a similar optical character and tonal rendering. This allows productions to mix focal lengths while maintaining color and contrast consistency.
