AstrHori annnounced a new interchangeable fisheye lens, the “6.5mm F2.0 Fisheye.” The suggested retail price is $129 US Dollars. Details about the lens can be viewed on their website.

With a 192° angle of view and a maximum aperture of F2.0, this new lens is capable of capturing vast landscapes and dynamic scenes with high shooting performance even in low light environments. As a circular fisheye lens compatible with APS-C sensors, it is designed to be able to capture unique expressions like a miniature garden, capturing the landscape as if it were a water droplet or a glass ball.

The lens also provides bright and clear images for night scenes and starry sky photography, and the 5-group, 6-element lens configuration includes 2 high-refractive index lenses and 2 ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses, achieving sharp, high-contrast images with reduced chromatic aberration.

AstrHori 6.5mm F2.0 Fisheye Overview

The 6.5mm F2.0 Fisheye weighs just 268g and is compact and lightweight. Normally, to create a 360° panoramic photo or VR image, you need to combine six or more images taken with an ultra-wide-angle lens, but with this product, you can create one with just two or three images by taking advantage of the 192° angle of view.

*Note that for the Micro Four Thirds lens, the top and bottom edges of the frame are cut off, so the resulting image will not be a perfect circle.
