Steadicam announced the beginning of orders for their new product, the Steadicam Volt 3.
The Volt System is an innovative piece of filming equipment that won an Academy Award for Scientific and Technical Achievement in 2025. Adding the Volt System to a Steadicam stabilizer enables electric control using a motor. This prevents unwanted roll, makes tilting easier, and assists balancing, which was previously controlled by finger or body movements, while maintaining the same feel as before.
The system allows operators to focus purely on framing, reducing the time they need to pay attention to vibrations and thread control in various shooting environments. This also allows for more precise operation and reduces the number of shots.

The newly developed “Steadicam Volt 3” is a 3-axis system that enhances pan direction control in addition to the conventional tilt and roll control. The newly equipped pan motor suppresses quick panning and minute shakes on the pan axis that were previously required with conventional techniques. This allows for smoother and more beautiful video expression even with a limited number of takes.

Steadicam Volt 3 Volt 3 Support Thread and Installation
The Steadicam Volt 3 is an option exclusively for the Steadicam M-2. For users of the Steadicam M-1, an upgrade kit that adds an M-2 stage is available. It is not compatible with third-party sleds, which were previously supported by the Volt.
Additionally, the Steadicam Volt 3 must be installed by the manufacturer or a distributor. It cannot be installed by the user. To purchase it, you will need the serial number of the M-2 stage.
Steadicam Volt 3 Volt 3 Features
Adding a Scene
A button has been added to the gimbal, and in addition to pan, tilt, roll, and damping, you can now save three scenes for inertia and drag parameters, allowing you to switch settings with a single button press.
Highly visible parameter display
In the previous Volt, settings were made using knob amounts, but now the value of each parameter is displayed numerically.

Gimbal integrated motor drive unit
Instead of the conventional attached motor drive unit, the gimbal is integrated, making it smaller and smarter.

User-updated firmware
Previously, the Volt only supported firmware updates via a storage service, but the Volt 3 is equipped with a USB-C port, allowing users to perform future updates themselves.
