DJ-Optical unveiled their newest M-mount nterchangeable lens, the “NyctaLux 50mm f/1.0” in black anodized finish. The DJ-Optical NyctaLux 50mm f/1.0 is a newly developed Leica M-mount compatible ultra-large aperture standard lens, designed by lens craftsmen with 30 years of experience. Named after Nyx, the Greek goddess of night, and Lux, meaning light, it was created as a lens for capturing “the light of night = the god of night.”
Avoiding the “huge size” often associated with large-aperture lenses, this lens achieves a size that strikes the perfect balance with image quality. Even when combined with mirrorless camera bodies from various manufacturers using a mount adapter, it maintains a good balance in both appearance and center of gravity, designed with the goal of being an “f/1.0 lens that you can always keep in your bag.”

DJ-Optical NyctaLux 50mm f/1.2 Features
High-quality black anodized finish
The lens barrel employs a special surface treatment technique also used for military medals. The surface treatment process for the aluminum substrate is combined with a special undercoat containing copper components, achieving a unique texture with depth and elegance. This process not only contributes to the aesthetic beauty of the appearance but also significantly contributes to the smooth and high-quality operation of the focus ring, resulting in a finish that gives a special feeling the moment you hold it.
The rich bokeh effect produced by the large aperture F1.0.
The f/1.0 aperture provides a precise focus plane and a smooth transition to the background bokeh, meticulously rendering the texture, light, and even the atmosphere of the scene. The distinctive bubble bokeh, characterized by its defined outlines and suppressing the onion rings often seen in bokeh, creates striking photographic expressions. Furthermore, it captures ample light even in low-light conditions, resulting in sharp and clear depictions of subjects.

ND filter included
A filter made with the same surface treatment comes with the lens. The ND8 filter allows for wide-open shooting even in bright sunlight. You can enjoy the beautiful bokeh unique to f/1.0 even in daylight without being limited by the upper limit of shutter speed.
Craftsman-approved operability
The aperture ring with a click mechanism provides intuitive and tactile aperture control. Custom-made stainless steel parts are used for the locking screws, ensuring both enhanced durability and a seamless integration with the lens barrel. The focus ring is tuned for a smooth and delicate torque feel, reflecting the craftsman’s dedication to every detail, down to the feel of turning the ring.
