DJI announced they launched the all-new DJI RS 4 Mini, a compact and lightweight gimbal for cameras and smartphones that weighs just 890g and can carry up to 2kg. This is ideal for APS-C sized cameras.
About the new DJI RS 4 Mini
Designed to meet the fast shooting needs of creators, the RS 4 Mini is the first Mini series to feature the auto axis locking function introduced in DJI’s flagship gimbal series, making setup, scene switching, and storage faster.
Other features that provide a more efficient and seamless shooting experience include a new smart tracking module, quick switch to portrait shooting, and a Teflon coating that offers a smoother balancing experience.

Next-generation design for a more efficient workflow
RS 4 Mini incorporates many proven features from DJI’s flagship gimbals to help creators work more efficiently. Second-generation auto-axis locking allows creators to unlock the gimbal’s three axes in one second, speeding up the shooting, scene switching, and storage process. Third-generation native portrait shooting switching provides the fastest switching experience in the RS series. A meticulous upgrade of the Teflon interlayer and fine-tuning knob allows for smoother and more accurate millimeter-level precision balancing when mounting the camera.
Intelligent Tracking for Captivating Images
The RS 4 Mini Combo comes standard with the new RS Smart Tracking module, providing intelligent framing and composition. ActiveTrack can be enabled on any camera system or smartphone, with or without the DJI Ronin app, to keep human subjects in frame up to 10 meters away, even in complex environments. Tracking can be enabled with a single press of the trigger button or an open palm gesture command.
The new Responsive mode allows the gimbal to quickly react to hand movements when starting or stopping, making it ideal for orbit shots of fast-moving subjects, while the classic Smooth Follow mode provides smooth gimbal response that is ideal for regular follow-the-subject shots.

This ensures excellent stability while providing a smooth and intuitive shooting experience. Stability has also been greatly improved when shooting in portrait orientation.
- Fast charging and long battery life: Compared to the DJI RS 3 Mini, charging speed and battery life have been improved by 30%, and the maximum operating time has been extended to 13 hours. It also supports quick charging, allowing you to use it for 5 hours with just 30 minutes of charging.
- Lightweight Design & High Payload Capacity: Weighing only 890g, RS 4 Mini has a payload capacity of up to 2kg. It is compatible with a wide range of mainstream mirrorless camera and lens combinations, providing excellent performance.
- Next-Generation RS Briefcase Handle: Designed exclusively for RS 4 Mini, this new handle is 20% smaller and 28g lighter than the previous DJI RS Briefcase Handle.
- Magnetic Quick Release Mount: The RS Smart Tracking Module features a magnetic quick release that can be attached to the tilt axis in just one second. The magnetic lock ensures it won’t loosen or fall off during shooting, allowing for more stable follow shots.
