Tamron announced the development of the 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) (hereinafter referred to as 18-300mm F3.5-6.3), a high-magnification zoom lens for Nikon Z mount and Canon RF mount APS-C mirrorless single-lens camera. It is scheduled to be released around summer 2025.
The 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) is a high-magnification zoom lens for APS-C size mirrorless single-lens cameras. When it was released in 2021, it was the world’s first lens to achieve a zoom ratio of 16.6x, and was available for Sony E-mount and Fujifilm X-mount.
Now, this lens debuts for Nikon Z-mount and Canon RF-mount.
Lens Details
The lens covers focal lengths from 18-300mm, allowing users to enjoy shooting from super telephoto to wide-angle without the hassle of changing lenses. It also supports super telephoto shooting of 300mm, and is useful for a variety of scenes, including landscapes, snapshots, and portraits, as well as animals and birds, sports, and children’s athletic meets, which are unique to super telephoto lenses.
Furthermore, its compact design makes it easy to carry when traveling or hiking. With a minimum shooting distance of 0.15m at the wide-angle end and a maximum shooting magnification of 1:2, it is possible to capture impressive images that highlight the power and details of the subject.
In addition, it is equipped with VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive), a high-speed, high-precision linear motor focus mechanism, and Tamron’s original VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism, supporting comfortable and stable shooting.
