Nikon Imaging Japan Co., Ltd. will release the “NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 (SE)” single-focal lens compatible with full-size / FX-format mirrorless cameras that uses the “Nikon Z mount” on January 20, 2023. Reservation applications will start from 10:00 on December 16, 2022. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 45,210 yen including tax.
The NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 (SE) is a single focal length lens that uses a heritage design with a sense of unity with the “Nikon Z fc” (released in July 2021). “(SE)” stands for “Special Edition” and follows the design of the NIKKOR lens released at the same time as the film SLR camera “Nikon FM2” (released in 1982). It is said that it features a control ring with a presence that has been knurled.
The optical performance is the same as the “NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2” (released in October 2021), and you can enjoy expressions that make use of the bright, close-to-circular bokeh that is bright with an open F value of 2. The standard angle of view with a focal length of 40mm can be used for a wide range of shooting scenes, including portraits with bokeh, snapshots, and still life. In addition, when attached to an APS-C/DX format camera body such as the Zfc, it is possible to shoot with a medium telephoto angle of view equivalent to 60mm (35mm format equivalent), making the subject stand out three-dimensionally.
Compact and lightweight type with a total length of about 45.5 mm and a weight of about 170 g. It is also dustproof and splashproof, making it easy to carry around.
