Blackmagic Design previewed a prototype of the “Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive” during Apple’s WWDC keynote. It is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2024.
Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive enables an end to end workflow for creating cinematic Apple immersive video with DaVinci Resolve and Apple Vision Pro.
The camera features a fixed, custom lens system with a resolution sensor of 8160 x 7200 per eye, and can shoot stereoscopic 90 frames per second with a wide 16 stops of dynamic range in Blackmagic RAW Immersive files. The new Blackmagic RAW Immersive file format is an enhancement to Blackmagic RAW designed to make it simple to work with immersive video throughout post production workflows.
The newest updates to DaVinci Resolve brings you the world’s first immersive video editor. There are many updates and changes to support an immersive workflow. Editors can now pan, tilt and roll clips for viewing on a 2D monitor. The best part is that you can adjust and monitor clips on the Apple Vision Pro itself. This allows for a very immersive editing experience.
More details about the Blackmagic Ursa Cine Immersive will be unveiled later this year. Additionally, Blackmagic Design will host various events worldwide to showcase the camera. When one of those events is announced in Japan, PRONEWS Global will be there.
