Sony announced the upcoming release of the FX3A, a minor model change of the “FX3″ Cinema Line series, on June 6, 2025.
The model change of the FX3 will only have minor functional changes. The model name will be changed to “Cinema Line ILME-FX3A”, but the suggested retail price will be the same as the FX3. The logo printed on the main body will remain the same as the FX3, but the model number on the bottom will be “ILME-FX3A”.

Monitor Screen Difference
One of the changes is the screen resolution of the rear LCD. It has been improved from about 1.44 million dots on the FX3 to about 2.36 million dots on the FX3A, making it the same resolution as the FX30. In addition, the battery charger included has been changed from the previous single battery charger “BC-QZ1” to “BC-ZD1.”

In terms of the body, the infrared remote control receiver and NFC function have been removed. The number of still images that can be taken has decreased by about 10 as a result of a slight increase in power consumption due to the change in the LCD monitor. However, overall there are no major changes.
