Fujifilm will release the new mirrorless digital camera, the FUJIFILM X-T50. It will be released in June 2024 as the latest model in the “X Series,” which shoots outstanding image quality and compactness through its unique color reproduction technology.
The product name and color variations are as follows:
■ Silver
- Digital camera: “X-T50”
- Digital camera lens kit: “X-T50” “XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ”
■ Black
- Digital camera: “FUJIFILM X-T50”
- Digital camera lens kit: “X-T50” “XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ”
This camera is equipped with the fifth-generation “X Series” back-illuminated 40.2MP “X-Trans CMOS 5 HR” sensor. The latest image processing algorithm achieves high resolution while maintaining a high S/N ratio.
Thanks to the improved pixel structure, more light can be captured efficiently, so ISO125, which was an extended sensitivity in previous models, can now be used as a standard sensitivity. In addition, the electronic shutter speed can be set to a maximum of 1/180,000 seconds, allowing for highly precise control of exposure time. This means that wide-open aperture shooting using a large-diameter lens is possible in a wide range of scenes.
Equipped with subject detection AF using AI developed using deep learning technology. It can detect animals, birds, cars, motorbikes, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects, and drones using AI. In addition, it is equipped with an AF prediction algorithm that is more advanced than previous models. It makes it easier to shoot a wide range of subjects.
Fujifilm Film Simulation Mode Included
It is equipped with 20 types of “Film Simulation” that simulates various color tones. This popular function includes “REALA ACE” that combines faithful color reproduction and sharp gradation expression. You can enjoy various color expressions just like choosing a photographic film according to the subject and scene.
Despite being equipped with a 5-axis, maximum 7.0-stop built-in image stabilization function, the X-T50 has a small, lightweight body weighing approximately 438 grams. While maintaining the mobility that has been a feature of previous models, handheld shooting is possible even in dark shooting scenes such as night scenes. 6.2K/30P video recording is possible. It also has a tracking AF function during video recording, allowing for high-quality video recording.
By simply operating the “Auto Mode Switch Lever” on the top of the body, you can shoot in “AUTO mode,” which automatically detects the scene and selects the optimal shooting settings. It automatically detects the subject and tracks it while keeping it in focus, making it easier to shoot high-quality still images and videos.
The new camera has a rounded body design, and while maintaining a compact size, the grip shape fits comfortably in the hand, providing excellent holdability.
A new film simulation dial has been added to the top left corner. It is possible to intuitively switch between 20 different film simulation modes to suit the subject or scene. This allows you to more easily enjoy a variety of color tones in both still images and videos.
Other Features
The camera is equipped with a pop-up flash on the top of the camera that is integrated with the viewfinder. It automatically controls the amount of light, and is effective for taking portraits in dark scenes or against the light.
The new Fujifilm X-T50 model uses a 1.84 million dot tilting LCD monitor on the rear. This is a carryover from the previous model. In addition, the grip shape and rear button layout is fine-tuned to make shooting from still images to videos more comfortable.
