DZOFilm Arles Prime Vista Vision Lenses

The new Arles Prime Vista Vision lens series has taken the film industry by storm, offering a range of high-performance prime lenses designed to meet the exacting standards of professional cinematographers. With the introduction of the 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm T1.4 lenses to its lineup, the DZOFilm Arles delivers a lineup that promises exceptional optical quality, robust build, and versatile focal lengths. Here’s a closer look at what makes these lenses a must-have for filmmakers seeking cinematic excellence.

Exceptional Optical Performance

The Arles Prime Vista Vision lenses are engineered to provide stunning image quality, with each lens meticulously crafted to deliver sharpness, clarity, and beautiful bokeh. The T1.4 aperture across the range ensures excellent low-light performance and allows for a shallow depth of field, giving filmmakers creative control over their visuals.

Key Features

  • Wide Aperture (T1.4): The T1.4 aperture is ideal for low-light conditions and achieving a cinematic shallow depth of field. It also offers greater creative flexibility in controlling exposure and depth.
  • High-Resolution Optics: Each lens in the series is designed to resolve high-resolution images, making them perfect for 4K and 8K productions.
  • Advanced Coatings: Multi-layer coatings reduce flare and ghosting, ensuring high contrast and accurate color reproduction even in challenging lighting conditions.

Robust Build and Design

Built to withstand the demands of professional filmmaking, the Arles Prime Vista Vision lenses feature a rugged construction that ensures durability without compromising on precision. The lenses are designed for consistent performance across a range of shooting environments.

Construction

  • Durable Housing: The lenses are housed in a robust metal body that offers excellent durability and resistance to environmental factors.
  • Consistent Form Factor: The lenses share a uniform design, with consistent front diameter and gear positions. This consistency simplifies lens changes and accessory use, such as matte boxes and follow focus systems.
  • Smooth Focus and Iris Rings: The focus and iris rings are engineered for smooth operation, providing precise control over focus and aperture adjustments. The 300-degree focus throw allows for fine-tuning focus, essential for achieving critical sharpness.

The lenses come with indicators for the metric system and imperial system.

Versatile Focal Lengths

The Arles Prime Vista Vision series covers a versatile range of focal lengths, making it suitable for a variety of shooting scenarios, from wide-angle landscapes to intimate close-ups.

Designed for Large Format

According to DZOFilm, the Arles lenses are compatible with larger format sensors. These lenses offer coverage for medium format cameras such as the 43.8 × 32.9mm format with focal lengths ranging from 25mm to 50mm, as well as large format cameras like the ALEXA 65 (54.12 × 25.59 mm) with focal lengths from 75mm to 180mm, satisfying the diverse needs from independent filmmaking to large-scale film production.

Lens Focal Length Use Cases:

Let’s explore how the DZOFilm Arles lenses can be used.

  • 25mm T1.4: Ideal for wide-angle shots, the 25mm lens captures expansive scenes and is perfect for establishing shots and environments where space is limited.
  • 35mm T1.4: A versatile focal length that balances wide-angle and standard perspectives, the 35mm lens is great for general-purpose shooting, including documentaries and street scenes.
  • 50mm T1.4: Often considered the “normal” lens, the 50mm provides a natural field of view, making it perfect for portraits and narrative filmmaking.
  • 75mm T1.4: This focal length is excellent for medium telephoto shots, providing a flattering perspective for portraits and isolating subjects from the background.
  • 100mm T1.4: The 100mm lens offers a telephoto perspective, ideal for close-ups and capturing details from a distance, adding depth and compression to your shots.

Enhanced Cinematic Experience

The DZOFilm Arles Prime Vista Vision lenses are designed to enhance the cinematic experience, offering filmmakers tools that elevate their storytelling through superior image quality and performance. The combination of wide apertures, high-resolution optics, and versatile focal lengths ensures that these lenses meet the demands of modern filmmaking.

Conclusion: A Worthy Investment for Filmmakers

The DZOFilm Arles Prime Vista Vision 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm T1.4 lenses represent a significant advancement in lens technology, offering unparalleled optical performance and build quality. Whether you are shooting a high-budget feature film, an indie project, or commercial content, these lenses provide the versatility and excellence needed to achieve your creative vision. With their robust construction, consistent design, and exceptional image quality, the Arles Prime Vista Vision lenses are a worthy investment for any serious filmmaker.
