The SLIK SBH-255 DM was once again released on June 14, 2024. The suggested retail price is 24,200 yen in Japan, which is approximately $155. This release marks the return of the SBH lineup of tripod heads.
The SLIK SBH-255 DM is a high-precision ball head that was originally released by SLIK in the early 2000s and was well-received. Production of the head was discontinued due to rising prices, but it will now be revived at a factory in Thailand. It has a square camera stand and uses an independent camera screw to secure the camera, so the camera can be attached and removed regardless of the movement of the ball.
The back of the camera stand and other parts that do not affect the strength of the camera have been hollowed out to reduce weight. In addition, the ball and knob parts are precisely machined with high precision, resulting in a ball head that can be firmly fixed with light force.
The tripod mounting screw at the bottom of the head is compatible with U1/4 inch (small screw), but if you remove the included double screw adapter, it can also be used with U3/8 inch (large screw).
The area where the camera is installed is equipped with a square camera stand. The camera can be set securely and reliably with the independent large diameter camera mounting screw knob.
High-precision processing ensures a firm hold, and it is said to be able to fully support shooting with high-resolution cameras.
The design is ideal for medium-sized carbon tripods such as the Light Carbon E83 II/E84 II and E73 II/E74 II.
