Cosina will be reselling the “ULTRON Vintage Line 28mm F2 Aspherical Type II” and “ULTRON Vintage Line 35mm F2 Aspherical Type II” lenses, which were announced to be discontinued in November 2025, in response to numerous requests. Resale will begin on July 3, 2026.
Both lenses share a common design philosophy, combining a classic exterior reminiscent of legendary lenses from the early 1970s with the latest optical performance compatible with both modern digital and film cameras.

Modern optical design and digital compatibility
Designed with digital cameras in mind, this lens employs the latest optical design to prevent color fringing at the edges of the image. It maintains excellent image quality not only when used with film cameras but also in digital environments. Furthermore, while ensuring a generous image circle compatible with 35mm full-frame cameras, it achieves a remarkably compact style compared to SLR lenses.
Mechanism for achieving superior operability
The use of a high-precision all-metal helicoid unit and high-quality grease enables smooth and precise manual focusing. It employs a Leica M-compatible bayonet-type VM mount and features a high-precision rangefinder coupling system, allowing for precise focusing even at wide apertures.
Shorter minimum focusing distance and expandability
Designed to allow you to get even closer to your subject than the minimum focusing distance (0.7m) of rangefinder-coupled lenses, it is particularly effective when shooting with cameras equipped with live view functionality. It is also compatible with the separately sold bayonet-type aluminum hood “LH-4N” and the crystal-coated “LH-12”.
