Even in complex illuminance environments such as sunrise and sunset, the details of the bright and dark areas are clearly captured. High dynamic range also gives you more options in post-editing, keeping true-to-life colors even with large exposure adjustments.
High quality cinema lenses designed for cinematographic aerial photography
A 18mm F2.8 full-size lens and a 75mm F1.8 full-size telephoto lens specially designed for 8K aerial photography are included in the lens group compatible with the DJI DL mount so that filmmakers can shoot with a higher degree of freedom. is newly added, and together with the existing 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm full-frame lenses, constitutes a high-quality cinema lens group.
With the DJI Cinema Color System (DCCS), which was developed based on DJI’s unique color science technology, the X9-8K Air captures true-to-life colors and renews the image of aerial footage. This color system is well-suited for shooting natural and urban landscapes, and can accurately capture skin tones in a variety of environments and lighting conditions.
DCCS makes it easy to color match footage shot between ground-based cinema cameras such as the DJI Ronin 4D and the X9-8K Air, providing a consistent color style from aerial to ground shots. It can meet the needs of post-editing work in film production. The included DJI PROSSD 1TB drive supports write speeds of 1100MB/s and read speeds of 900MB/s. It can be directly connected to a computer via a USB-C cable, enabling easy file sharing and a seamless workflow.
Intelligent mode with highly maneuverable precision flight system
DJI Inspire 3 is equipped with RTK high-precision positioning technology used in the fields of architecture and surveying, realizing cm-level positioning. Using 7RTK not only makes flight more stable, but also allows for more accurate flight route planning, greatly improving shooting efficiency.
It has a built-in dual-layer ceramic antenna for RTK positioning, can receive signals from 3 types of GNSS systems (GPS + Galileo + BeiDou), and can accurately operate flight even in complex environments. Enabling Network RTK 8 or installing D-RTK 2 Mobile Station 9 enables high-precision positioning without additional modules. It also has interior orientation, which eliminates the need for compass calibration in most scenarios.
In addition, Waypoint Pro is newly installed, allowing you to customize a wide range of flight routes and shooting plans. Whether you’re shooting a one-off shoot or a professional crew, the Waypoint Pro lets you capture even the most complex scenes without a hitch.
Waypoint Pro features in Inspire 3 (2 modes)
Repeatable route
The aircraft will auto-fly exactly the same route while maintaining all pre-set parameters such as flight altitude, flight speed, gimbal angle and camera settings. The same flight mission can be repeated, so you can easily shoot difficult one-take shots multiple times, fly the same route multiple times at different times, and capture day to night or seasonal changes in long time-lapse images.
3D Dolly
It can perform similar movements to cranes, cable cams and dollys. After the user plans the flight route, the aircraft can be manually moved back and forth on the flight route while adjusting the flight speed, gimbal angle, etc. to suit the shooting needs. This makes it possible to easily and efficiently perform complex cinema-level camera work, and achieve more effective visual effects.
Based on powerful machine learning algorithms, the new feature Spotlight Pro allows the gimbal camera to recognize a single object and automatically focus and track it, allowing pilots to focus on flying. It is possible to shoot complex scenes even when you have to shoot alone.
State-of-the-art omnidirectional obstacle detection system
DJI Inspire 3 is equipped with a powerful omnidirectional obstacle sensing system with nine vision sensors to detect obstacles in all directions and provide comprehensive flight protection. In addition, a custom function for obstacle avoidance is newly installed, achieving both superior flight safety and greater freedom of shooting. Horizontal, top, and bottom obstacle detection can be enabled/disabled individually, and the obstacle warning range can be manually set to suit different shooting scenarios.
This feature displays real-time distance to obstacles on the navigation display while active obstacle avoidance is disabled, and alerts when obstacles are within a set range (the aircraft can does not automatically avoid obstacles). It is said that more complex video expressions are possible, and the range of shooting expressions in professional shooting teams will be further expanded.
Ultra wide-angle night vision FPV camera for day and night operation
DJI Inspire 3 is equipped with an FPV camera with an ultra-wide 161° FOV, a 1/1.8-inch night vision sensor, 3μm pixel size, and live footage up to 1080p/60fps. Clear and stable images can be transmitted with low latency regardless of day or night, making it easier to check the surrounding environment and improving flight safety.
O3 Pro video transmission & control system for cinematography
DJI Inspire 3’s O3 Pro video transmission system has greatly upgraded from the traditional transmission system in terms of transmission distance/delay/overall stability, with a maximum transmission distance of 15km in single control mode and maximum transmission in dual control mode. The drone’s range of operations is 12 kilometers.
It also can transmit stable high-definition live video up to 1080p/60fps with an ultra-low latency of just 90ms. For the first time, it also supports 4K/30fps live video transmission with a maximum transmission distance of 5km, meeting the needs of video output and live distribution in UHD image quality at the shooting site.
An advanced dual control mode allows the two transmitters to independently receive video from the drone and control the drone, allowing field pilots and gimbal operators to operate in separate locations on set. It is said that there is no problem even if the work is done.
The DJI Inspire 3 comes with the DJI RC Plus, which features a 7-inch 1200 nit high-brightness screen that allows you to see clear images and operate it even in strong direct sunlight. The RC Plus built-in battery lasts about 3 hours and 18 minutes, and if you use a hot-swappable WB37 external battery, you can extend the driving time to 6 hours.
The transmitter has an HDMI output port, and custom buttons and custom dials on the front, back, and top of the transmitter allow for quick and intuitive operation. The remote controller comes pre-installed with the DJI Pilot 2 app (for Inspire), with a quick boot and intuitive UI for easy access to features like a built-in state management system.
Compatible with the DJI Pro ecosystem
A lot of effort seems to have been invested into developing the DJI Inspire 3 to make it seamlessly applicable to professional film shoots. For example, it can support timecode sync via 3.5mm jack for precision control in the field. When you need to process large amounts of footage from multiple cameras, timecode synchronization greatly simplifies the editing process and makes you more efficient.
You can also pair and use one RC Plus with one high-brightness remote monitor. With this monitor, you can link to the DJI Pro ecosystem and use products like the DJI 4D Hand Grip and DJI Master Wheels. This provides a gimbal control experience equivalent to that of the Ronin 2, allowing cinematographers to control the gimbal in a familiar way. Additionally, DJI 3ch Follow Focus can be connected to RC Plus to adjust the focus and aperture of the Zenmuse X9-Air camera.
