Leica Camera will open the Leica Omotesando Store, on April 12, 2024. With Leica Ginza Store and Leica Kyoto Store, this store will be the third flagship shop in Japan. Leica Stores throughout the world developed their identity as a place of photographic art appreciation.
The Leica Omotesando Store will be located in a hideaway location away from the hustle and bustle of the Omotesando/Harajuku area, and will sell traditional cameras based on the keywords of art, vintage, communication, and craftsmanship. The design is meant to be a base for disseminating the appeal of photography from a new perspective.
The interior of the Leica Omotesando Store is open plan, and the floors are seamlessly connected. The first floor area extending from the entrance carries the full lineup of Leica’s current products. The basement floor will feature “Leica Pre-Owned,” a collection of Leica-certified used cameras and vintage items guaranteed to be of the highest quality.
“Leica Gallery Omotesando” spreads out in the space that continues to the second floor. Leica’s official gallery, called “Leica Gallery,” is located in Omotesando, the third location in Japan, following Ginza and Kyoto. Exhibitions from a variety of photographers, artists, and creators make this a must-visit space for people visiting Omotesando.
In addition, “Leica Gallery Omotesando” will be holding a photo exhibition by Hiroshi Fujiwara from April 12, 2024 to commemorate the opening.
