Leica Camera AG (hereafter referred to as Leica) added a new feature, the “Artist Looks” series, to the latest version (version 1.7) of the iPhone camera app, “Leica LUX.” This app allows users to more strongly express their individuality and freely express their creativity. This is a convenient function that allows users to quickly access their favorite “Leica Looks” and shoot with a unified mood.
We briefly reviewed the Leica LUX App Freeware version, and look forward to experimenting with the Artist Looks feature.
First Artist for the LEICA LUX Artist Looks Series: Greg Williams
The first release was developed in collaboration with renowned British photographer Greg Williams, and brings his signature cinematic style to mobile photography. During development, scans of Kodak’s TRI-X 400 film, known for its excellent quality, were used as reference, and fine adjustments were made under various lighting conditions to create a look that is realistic, intimate, and warm, without the impression of artificially enhanced quality.

The “Greg Williams” Look will also be added to “Leica FOTOS,” making it possible to achieve the same atmosphere with Leica cameras.
In addition, new looks will be added to the Artist Look series in the future.

Leica LUX: Leica-like photography on your iPhone
In 2023, Leica acquired Fjorden Electra, a Norwegian startup company that develops mobile photography-related products, to expand its mobile business. In 2024, the company co-developed an iPhone app called Leica LUX.
With the introduction of Leica LUX, the iconic visual DNA of Leica lenses can now be used on the iPhone. It also allows you to shoot with a manual feel, and you can enjoy a wide range of photographic expressions with Leica Look. More types of Leica LUX will be added in the future. Leica LUX currently has a very high rating of “4.8” on the App Store, making it the highest-rated photo app on the App Store.
Leica LUX version 1.7 is available on the App Store. Artist Look, supervised by Greg Williams, is only included in the paid version of Leica LUX. If you register your product after purchasing the “Leica LUX Grip,” you can use the paid version of Leica LUX for free for one year, and Artist Look can also be used for free for one year.
