Avid has announced Avid Huddle, a new SaaS solution that enables post-production teams to collaborate and speed up content review and approval.
Avid Huddle is available with flexible monthly or annual subscriptions, allowing users to scale up or down as needed, paying only for what they need, when they need it. Only the host of a session needs an Avid Huddle subscription; participants can join the session through Microsoft Teams.
Avid Huddle eliminates the time-consuming process of sending content to multiple stakeholders and collecting their input. By simulating a face-to-face content review, editorial teams can dramatically shorten project turnaround times, saving time and money.
In hybrid working environments, editors using Media Composer | Ultimate, Media Composer | Enterprise or Avid | Edit On Demand can easily share high-quality media during live Microsoft Teams meetings. This setup allows remote reviewers can view, discuss and comment in real time from anywhere, as if they were working in the same place.
“Avid is excited to partner with NVIDIA to bring its cutting-edge technology to the next generation of video production,” said Tanya O’Connor, vice president of Market Solutions at Avid.
In post-production, collaborative video content reviews can be difficult when creative teams are spread across multiple locations. Avid Huddle allows teams to remove these barriers and leverage the ways in which they work together. Finally, over-the-shoulder content reviews with remote creative stakeholders are made easy using one of the most popular collaboration apps in the world.
Editors can continue working in Media Composer while using Avid Huddle to securely launch Teams meetings where participants can review high-quality video content. Delivering unprecedented efficiency, Huddle allows producers, clients and other reviewers to provide instant feedback to editors by adding virtual, time-stamped comments and annotations as they discuss content in the live session.
Simon Crownshaw, worldwide strategy director for media and entertainment at Microsoft, commented on the collaborative effort between Avid and Microsoft:
Powered by the secure and ubiquitous Teams platform, Avid Huddle delivers a clear paradigm shift in how content review and approval processes for TV shows, movies, commercials and more can be made faster and more cost-effective. Most importantly, it delivers a superior streaming video and audio experience that feels like you’re watching an editor work in Media Composer from the comfort of your own home.
