Sony has established a new photo and video award called “THE NEW CREATORS” through collaboration between Sony Group companies, and will begin accepting applications from November 18, 2024. The award was launched by Sony-related companies that share a common passion for supporting creators, with the aim of supporting new creative activities. With Sony Marketing at the center, the Sony Music Labels, Sony Pictures, and Sony PCL groups will work together to support the next generation of creators and promote the development of photo and video culture.
Anyone, professional or amateur, who enjoys creating works and wants to be recognized for their work, can participate.
The application is targeted at anyone who enjoys creating a wide range of works, regardless of whether they are professional or advanced amateur. The schedule is that applications will open at 10:00 a.m. on November 18, 2024, and close at 11:59 p.m. on February 10, 2025.

- February 14th – March 26th, 2025 : Judging period & announcement of finalists/honorable mentions

12 winners will be selected in the first round of judging, and the Grand Prize winner will be selected in the second round of judging.
There are three categories for photography and three for video, for a total of six categories, and a wide range of works are being accepted. There is an U25 category for photography and a short category for video, which are easy to enter. Sony is not only looking for photography, which has been the leading category up until now, but also video works. Equipment and experience are not important.
■Photographic works
Only one category can be entered. Up to 10 works can be submitted (single photos only).

A film of 60 seconds or less that captures the viewer’s heart
Regarding the eligibility requirements (requirements), there are no restrictions on age or experience (professional), and no restrictions on camera manufacturer or equipment (smartphones are OK). Please refer to the official website for details.
In addition to prizes provided by Sony-related companies, the awards will also include Sony products, equipment and filming support to support the shoot.
The final Grand Prix winner will be one in the photography category and one in the video category. In the first round of judging, six candidates + an honorable mention will be selected for each of the “photography” and “video” categories, and one Grand Prix winner will be selected from the six.
In addition to the prize money and prizes, the award also offers additional prizes that could only be realized and provided by Sony-related companies, which is also a major feature of the award.
Sony Marketing will invite participants to the Sony World Photography Awards and Sony Future Filmmaker Awards ceremonies. This is a chance to participate in rare events in London and Los Angeles. Sony Music will allow participants to participate in a music video shoot. Sony PCL will provide a tour of Kiyosumi Shirakawa BASE. Sony Pictures will provide participants with the opportunity to experience filming on a movie set.
