In the post-production industry in recent years, the introduction of remote workflows and cloud storage has progressed, and major changes are occurring in work styles and communication methods. We will introduce a course where you can look around the latest tools corresponding to those technologies.
01 Cloud-compatible solution “Avid NEXIS | EDGE”
Avid Technology [#8302]
Pay attention to the exhibition of “Avid NEXIS | EDGE” announced in October 2022. Editors will have the same media access and workflow as if they were editing in a production studio, allowing them to work from anywhere. His Avid NEXIS | EDGE web client also enables team members to find, organize, storyboard, edit and review content in the production studio, at home or on location. It also works with Media Composer | Enterprise, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Avid NEXIS storage, so you can concentrate on your work while maintaining a creative group.
02 Samsung Portable SSD T7 Shield
Japan Samsung [#8401]
Based on the concept of “Samsung SSD that supports 4K8K video production”, we will exhibit workflows for recording, backing up, editing, and rendering video content using devices equipped with large-capacity, high-speed, and highly reliable Samsung SSDs.
Notable products are the URSA Mini Pro 12K and Pocket Cinema Camera 4K/6K series, and the actual portable SSD “T7 Shield” that can record video with a USB-C expansion port connection. The SSD achieves a maximum transfer speed of 1,050MB/s and maintains stable performance even when transferring large files. It is IP65 compliant and has resistance to water and dust, and by covering the outside with an elastomer with excellent impact resistance, it has the durability to withstand a drop of 3m.
03 Inline management “ColorBox”
AJA [#8501]
A noteworthy product is the portable device “ColorBox,” which is equipped with algorithm-based color conversion and LUT processing functions and will be released in September 2022. A device capable of converting between a wide range of HDR/SDR standards, allowing DITs to load, adjust, and save looks and create reference images to ensure color accuracy between production stakeholders and creative vendors. It provides accurate and detailed color space conversion functions for production sites such as live events, shooting sites, and post-production.
04 Post-production software “DaVinci Resolve 18” Blackmagic
Design [#8317]
The notable product is the complete post-production solution “DaVinci Resolve 18” that allows everyone to work simultaneously on one project. Blackmagic Cloud, which has also launched services in Japan, allows editors, colorists, VFX artists, animators, and sound engineers to work simultaneously from anywhere in the world. Each change can be checked against each other, eliminating hours of reconforming timelines.
05 Video production platform “ALBA e tramonto”
Sakura Eiki [#7309]
The video production platform system “ALBA e tramonto” will be unveiled for the first time. “Editing operation without delay”, “no dropped frames”, “no lip-sync deviation”, “real-time external monitoring via 12G-SDI”, “supports interlaced playback and drawing (SDI-OUT/PC full-screen display)”, even with IP remote base It features 4K60P/HDR playback support and low-speed line support (10 Mbps) by tethering.
It features an editing environment that allows you to work anytime, anywhere, and consists of a backend server and a client device that connects to it. At the booth, IP was transmitted via the Internet connection (VPN) from the client device (notebook PC) installed at the Sakura Eiki head office (back-end server installed) in Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo and the Sakura Eiki booth at Makuhari Messe. Demonstrate remote editing and preview functions.
06 Blustream’s “HEX70USB-KIT” ED
Techno [#5310]
Blustream’s products such as commercial liquid crystal displays and AV over IP series, AVMATRIX’s matrix switchers and multi-viewers, Digital Forecast’s products such as optical extenders, converters and splitters, and video transmission cables were exhibited.
The noteworthy product is Blustream’s “HEX70USB-KIT.” An HDMI extender that can transmit 1080 60p HDMI signals up to 70m (4K UHD 60p signals up to 40m) with a single LAN cable of category 5e or higher. It has a bandwidth of up to 10.2Gbps and supports HDCP2.2 and Dolby Atmos and other surround audio formats. The transmission distance is up to 70m with a 1080p Cat6/5e cable (up to 40m for 4K), enabling long-distance transmission with little image degradation.
