Fujifilm will release the “FUJIFILM SX1600” on April 12, 2023 as a new entry into the lineup of the “SX series” of long-range cameras with integrated lens.
The SX1600 is a long-range telephoto camera with an integrated lens that supports an effective image size of 1/1.8 type. It has a focal length of 40mm wide-angle to 1600mm maximum telephoto, which is double that of the currently available FUJIFILM SX800.
By expanding the effective image size with newly developed sensor control technology, it is possible to extend the focal length to the equivalent of 20mm. Furthermore, when combined with a maximum of 2x digital zoom, shooting equivalent to a focal length of 3200mm is possible. It achieves a 160x zoom that covers focal lengths equivalent to 20mm to 3200mm, making it possible to capture a car license plate about 2.5km away or a person about 3.5km away.
The SX1600 is equipped with a newly developed anti-shake system that enables coordinated control of the optical anti-shake function (OIS) and electronic anti-shake function (EIS) to accurately correct image blur. Equipped with high-speed, high-precision AF with a minimum speed of about 0.1 seconds and excellent heat haze and haze reduction functions, it is possible to capture objects instantly and achieve clear shooting.
It can be used for a wide range of purposes such as monitoring of large-scale public facilities and equipment such as airports, harbors, highways, as well as national borders and forests, safety management of large-scale construction sites involving work in high places, and remote inspection of infrastructure facilities such as wind power generators and power lines.
