Sirui has reached its Indigogo Goals for crowdfunding its new Night Walker APS-C/Super 35 anamorphic lenses. With a bright T1.2 aperture and a low price point, these lenses are great deals for filmmakers on a budget. The Night Walker series comes in three sizes, and the Indigogo site gives backers the option to purchase all 3 at once for a discount.
The three lens sizes available are:
- 24mm T1.2
- 35mm T1.2
- 55mm T1.2
Other details about this lens are available here below, from the Sirui website:
These lenses are designed to be ideal for low-light shooting. With the fast aperture and extra-low dispersion lens elements that allow for optimal refracting of even very dim light. This set up allows for minimal focus breathing and a very steady shot, as all three sizes fit into the same body. The 24mm features six high-index optics, the 35mm uses one ED and one high-inded element, and the 55mm uses one ED and four high-index elements.
As mentioned, all three Night Walker sizes use the same body design. The dimensions of the body is 83.7mm height and 79mm width. This allows for the same rigging to be used on one camera without having to adjust the rig, but allow for more versatile shots with the 3 available lenses. The Night Walker lenses also use the same 77.6mm diameter geared focus ring, which has a rotation angle of 270 degrees. The weight for all three is about 500 grams. Finally, for ND/VND filter attachments, the ring is threaded at 67mm.
These lenses are available for four mounts: the Sony E mount, Canon RF mount, Fujifilm X mount, and micro four thirds mounts. One potential drawback is that these lenses are not automatic for focusing or zoom; they require complete manual control.
Indigogo backers can purchase all three lenses for $899 for a limited time, available from this link here. The price for this package will soon rise to $999.
