DJI has released the DJI Video Receiver and the DJI Transmission (Standard Combo). The sales prices on the company’s online store are as follows.
- DJI Transmission (Standard Combo): $2,499
- DJI video receiver: $1,699
Designed for different shooting scenarios, the two combos offer cinematographers an innovative wireless transmission system with advanced features and flexibility. The DJI Transmission series sets a new standard for stable, low-latency, long-distance transmission.
Whats in the DJI Transmission Package:
The DJI Transmission series includes two types, a high-brightness monitor combo and a standard combo, providing cinematographers with diverse shooting solutions to meet their respective shooting needs.
The high-brightness monitor combo is a system that seamlessly integrates receiver/monitor/recording/control functions, while the standard combo newly supports metadata transmission via SDI and video output at a fractional frame rate. It is said that it is the best combo to use with the monitor.
Multiple simultaneous reception from one transmitter
With the DJI Transmission, multiple receivers can simultaneously receive data from one transmitter, and two types of transmission modes are used to achieve seamless video and audio transmission. In stream mode, there is no upper limit on the number of receiving receivers, and real-time video can be output to multiple receivers at the same time, making it ideal for large-scale film crews and multiple teams on set. The camera index can be switched easily and the bit rate and video codec can be displayed in real time, contributing to improved shooting efficiency.Advanced control options switch high-brightness remote monitors and video receivers into control mode for seamless use with control devices such as DJI Master Wheels. This allows Ronin 2, RS 3 Pro and camera focus adjustments to be remotely controlled by up to two receivers without affecting other devices connected in broadcast mode.
In addition, the video receiver supports a voice call function that enables real-time one-to-one long-distance communication, realizing seamless communication between the cinematographer and director.
Transmission of metadata
The DJI video receiver supports camera metadata transmission over SDI. This function works with leading cinema cameras, like ARRI and RED. Detailed shooting information including filename, timecode, record trigger, camera settings, lens information, etc. can be transmitted from the receiver to the monitor or QTAKE. This feature will give directors, cinematographers and DIT teams a comprehensive view of the shooting data, improving the efficiency of the overall workflow on set.
DJI High Brightness Remote Monitor
The DJI High Brightness Remote Monitor has a built-in receiver, making it highly portable and efficient to set up in any field. The remote monitor has a built-in image processing chip similar to that of the Ronin 4D, and also acts as a receiver, monitor, controller and recorder in one, providing comprehensive functions.
DJI LiDAR Rangefinder (RS) –
Using the DJI Transmission Cable Hub, users can combine focusing and monitoring systems. By connecting the DJI Video Transmitter and the DJI RS Focus Motor (2022) to the DJI LiDAR Rangefinder (RS), you can perform lens calibration and autofocus even with a manual lens, and you can connect to the RS 3 Pro. No connection required.
A Ronin 4D handgrip can be used to connect to this setup and leverage LiDAR waveform technology to perform precise manual focusing as well.
Furthermore, when connected with the DJI RS 3 Pro, the device configuration becomes a comprehensive shooting solution with a stabilizer, remote monitor, gimbal control and LiDAR focus system seamlessly integrated.
Support tools & independent recording function
High-brightness remote monitor includes essential tools such as safety zones, frame guides, zebra stripes, false color, peaking, waveforms, zoom control, screen color calibration, and custom 3D LUTs with just two taps can also be used for precise composition, exposure and focus.
The remote monitor also features a microSD card slot for independent recording and playback of H.264 live video up to 1080p/60fps. The monitor can seamlessly sync recorded footage with the camera, allowing for convenient proxy file editing.
Compatible with more devices than ever before
The high-brightness remote monitor is compatible with the Ronin 4D handgrip, allowing precise control of gimbal movement, focus and camera parameters on the Ronin 2 and RS 3 Pro. It also supports DJI Master Wheels and DJI Force Pro for a variety of advanced gimbal control options. Working together with DJI Transmission, these devices deliver unparalleled transmission performance, signal transmission range, stability and anti-interference performance.
The DJI video receiver is equipped with various ports to provide a wide range of connectivity options. It has two 3G-SDI output ports and an HDMI 1.4 Type-A output port, both of which support 1080p/60fps video output.
