LIGHT LENS LAB has announced the “M 50mm f/2 SPII” interchangeable lenses. The lenses are being sold in three colors: silver, black, and vintage black (black paint + aging processing). LIGHT LENS LAB M 50mm f/2 SPII is an M-mount lens that is a replica of the famous “Cooke Speed Panchro Series II 50mm f/2” 1940s cinema lens. Combine this lens with an M-mount adapter, and users can create a truly retro-styled looking rig, like the Leica application below:
Optical performance close to the original Cooke Speed Panchro is achieved by adopting a traditional double gauss type configuration of 7 elements in 5 groups and a single-coated lens using lantern flint glass. This combination creates a unique image from modern lens construction within the retro design.
It features a distinctive bifurcated focus lever reminiscent of the original, and a straight-line exterior design. The brass lens barrel has a moderate weight and high precision processing. The focus lever can be replaced with the included pin type.
The built-in UV filter protects the front element while allowing smooth attachment and detachment of ND filters and special effect filters.
