InterBEE 2023

InterBEE 2023 is among us! Day 1 has ended and Day 2 is underway as I type this, and our Global Team is working hard – on site and offline – to ensure you did not miss a thing! On Day 1, we visited multiple different camera makers and took a good look at what is trending. Lets take a look at what we discovered.

Blackmagic Design at InterBEE

Blackmagic showcased the Cinema Camera 6K. Possibly anticipating the question I had about the difference between that camera and the Pocket Cinema 6K, they had both cameras on display next to each other. In the interview, the Blackmagic Design representative explained to us the differences between the two, namely the larger sensor and the new L-mount, which Blackmagic joined this year.

Sony Surprised Us

Sony A9III at InterBEE 2023
They surprised us with the Sony A9III!

We were re-introduced to the Sony Burano at their booth. This CineAlta camera has a built-in ND filter along with a similar engine to the Venice II but in a smaller body, enabling it to be useful for documentary shooting and run-and-gun shots.

However, Sony decided to spring a huge surprise on us as well…they showed us their brand-new global-shutter equipped Sony A9III. Our crew did not know that Sony would be showing us the camera, but they graciously allowed us to try it out. I was very impressed by the quality of the shots, as well as its ability to shoot an incredible amount of photos all at once. We look forward to using the A9III in a demonstration soon.

Fujifilm’s Cinematic Beast at InterBEE 2023

Fujifilm at InterBEE 2023
Fujifilm showcased their Fujinon 19-45 on their GFX100 II

Our reviewer Thierry did our interview at the Fujifilm booth, where they further demonstrated the impressive capabilities of the GFX100 II large-frame camera.

Fujifilm also had a showcase of their Fujinon broadcasting lens. We look forward to potentially seeing Fujifilm explore deeper into the cinematic line of cameras.

So far, InterBEE 2023 has been a bunch of fun. It was an honor to talk to all the makers and creators, too. Check back in tomorrow for Sigma and Nikon…Nikon decided to surprise us with a debut of a brand new robot.
