Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K Censor
The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K features a large full-frame sensor with a native resolution of 6048 x 4032. It’s about three times the size of the Super 35 sensor, so you can shoot with shallow depth of field or use anamorphic lenses without cropping for a cinematic look. Whether you’re shooting in bright sunlight or very little light, the 13-stop dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600 deliver beautiful, low-noise images in all lighting conditions. It is also possible to shoot at up to 36fps at full sensor resolution and up to 120fps at window resolution.
The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K’s large full-frame sensor allows it to shoot in a variety of formats and aspect ratios without compromising quality. By using the entire sensor area, you get an open-gate 3:2 image and can reframe shots in post-production. The large sensor allows it to shoot in true 6:5 anamorphic without cropping, resulting in high-resolution, cinematic widescreen images with more detail than ever before.
The sensor uses a traditional Super 35 window to instantly create a close-up version of a shot, which can be used in conjunction with open-gate footage.
Lens Mount and Recording Resolutions
Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K is equipped with an L mount. This lens mount is compatible with full-frame sensors, making it compatible with many vintage and new lenses. The diameter of the L mount is 51.6mm, so it is compatible with the latest full frame lenses from Leica, Panasonic, Sigma, etc. Additionally, the 20mm flange distance allows you to easily add adapters for various lens mounts without affecting image quality. The L mount allows you to use virtually any lens in one mount, allowing you to maximize your creativity.
Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K supports all popular format resolutions and frame rates from HD to DCI 4K and even 6K. It can also shoot 24.6 megapixel stills. For shooting at higher frame rates, it uses a window sensor and supports up to 2112 x 1184 Super 16 at 100fps. Using an anamorphic lens, it is also possible to shoot true anamorphic 6:5 at 4.8K (4838 x 4032) at 24 fps, which is a much higher resolution than other cameras. 1080HD resolution is said to be able to shoot at 120fps.

Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design, commented:
When developing the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K, we aimed to make it as portable as possible while also supporting high-end large format shooting. To do this, we followed the Pocket Cinema Camera’s shape, but based on a full-frame sensor and L-mount, we completely redesigned the internal electronics. This means you get great large format footage in an extremely portable design, and you can still use your existing accessories.
The L mount also opens up great creative options, allowing you to use the latest Leica lenses or use your vintage lenses in completely new ways. This is a true high-end cinema camera designed for high-end productions, allowing you to tell your story in a whole new way.
