KODAK Super 8 Camera Unveiled

Kodak will be releasing the limited edition “KODAK Super 8 Camera. This is a new camera which combines the nostalgia of analog and the convenience of digital. Manufacturer’s suggested retail price in the US is $5,495. It will be launched in the United States and will be available in other countries later.

Main features of KODAK Super 8 Camera

4 inch LCD viewfinder

The Super 8’s rotating LCD viewfinder allows users to shoot from a wide range of angles, making shooting easier than ever before. The enlarged screen also makes features such as aspect ratio overlays, interactive menu selection, and camera settings intuitive and easy to use.

Expansion gate

16:9 (widescreen) shooting and improved resolution have been achieved. The Super 8 Camera’s expansion gate optimizes the capture area of the filmstrip, allowing for 11% larger images than traditional S8 cameras.

This full 14:9 format gives Super 8 film the flexibility to intercut with other modern media capture formats, seamlessly filling the frames of today’s television and video screens.

Interchangeable C-mount lens

The new Super 8 Camera comes with a detachable wide-angle 6mm 1:1.2 C-mount lens, offering creative options for filmmakers of all levels. Users can attach their favorite lens using other C-mount prime lenses or adapters. This camera is primed for vintage lenses, which can create a retro feel in operation.

KODAK Super 8 Camera Connectivity and Crystal Sync

Seamlessly capture high-quality audio with a built-in sound recorder and external microphone connection (3.5mm input), and connect directly to the built-in SD card reader. Monitor audio levels with built-in LCD live meters.

It is the first modern Super 8mm camera to feature 24fps and 25fps crystal sync, and 18fps and 36fps over/under crank. Micro HDMI output enhances capture on HDMI-compatible monitors.

Versatile handling

The smart top handle design has a built-in run button that starts and stops shooting. This camera is useful in all kinds of scenes, from studio sets to handheld action.

Pistol grip

Easily switch from top-handle navigation to a removable pistol grip and add a run button for eye-level shots and a traditional Super 8 Camera feel.

Latest film technology

Each Kodak Super 8 cartridge is loaded with 50 feet of professional motion picture film. Choose from three types of Kodak Vision3 color negative films or reversal films such as TRI-X B&W reversal film and EKTACHROME color reversal film.
