ARRI has announced its top-of-the-line stabilized remote head, the Arri 360 EVO. Initial shipments and upgrades for SRH-360 owners will begin in the first quarter of 2024.
The Arri 360 EVO builds on the success of the SRH-360 by rotating 360° not just only on the pan axis, but also on the roll axis. It features a robust design and remote system integration. The new GUI and multiple accessories are shared with ARRI TRINITY 2, with a uniquely integrated lineup of hard and soft mount stabilizer options.
Since the release of TRINITY 2, ARRI has developed a technology that allows operators to rotate the lens 360° around the optical center on the roll axis. He has utilized this technology to pursue various creative possibilities. Now, the same technology has been scaled up to the ARRI 360 EVO 3-axis stabilized remote head.
By attaching the head to a crane, or attaching a cable cam to the top of a live broadcast event, even more dynamic roll-axis shots can be taken.
The ARRI 360 EVO runs on the same software platform as the TRINITY 2, with a common and intuitive GUI displayed on a touchscreen remote control panel. These two products also share cables, brackets, and SAM plates for mounting different cameras, and use the same tools, such as ARRI’s DRW-1 (Digital Remote Wheel) and the new DEH-2 (Digital Encoder Head). Can be controlled. This allows TRINITY 2 users to invest in the 360 EVO without purchasing additional accessories or learning new workflows.
By offering both systems, professionals can expand their services to productions, increase work time, and reduce setup time.
LBUS connectivity enables efficient digital and metadata workflows, and new software and GUIs are focused on long-term Unreal Engine integration to facilitate virtual production.
In the future, the use of authorized repeater cloud services will provide highly flexible control options, including plug-and-play control of the 360 EVO over the Internet.
The 360 EVO features remote system integration, 360° roll axis rotation, up to 30Kg payload capacity, compact size, versatile connectivity, high capacity 12/24V camera power and stability for long focal lengths. It offers high cost performance in the movie and broadcasting markets.
