The LIGHT LENS LAB M 50mm f/2 Rigid-SPII interchangeable lens has been released worldwide. The selling price on the Focus Studio online store is 129,600 yen including tax.
The LIGHT LENS LAB M 50mm f/2 Rigid-SPII (nicknamed the Rigid SP2) is a standard prime lens with a lens barrel that reproduces the later model of Leica’s “50mm F2 1st Rigid” manufactured between 1956 and 1968, and optical performance similar to Cooke’s “50mm F2 Series II” from the 1940s.
A beautiful, precise lens
This lens reproduces the compact and beautiful design of the Leica “50mm F2 1st Rigid,” which is highly regarded by enthusiasts. You can enjoy the high precision of the processing and the high-quality operation, such as the pleasant click of the aperture ring, the precise knurling and the engraved index, and the infinity lock that clicks into place. The lens barrel is made of durable brass, and although it is small, it has a heavy feel.
Reproduce the depiction of famous cinema lenses
This lens reproduces the outstanding image expression of the Cook 50mm F2 Series II, which was used by famous Hollywood studios in the 1940s. It adopts a traditional double Gauss type configuration of 7 elements in 5 groups, achieving optical performance close to that of the original. There are two types of lenses: the original, which can express natural colors thanks to its multi-coating, and the LIGHT LENS LAB M 50mm f/2 SPII, which has a classical depiction thanks to its single coating, so you can choose according to your preference.
