KIPON Baveyes Extender MM 2X for M Mounts Released

KIPON has started offering the KIPON Baveyes Extender MM 2X, a two-x optical extender for Leica M-mounts.

This adapter doubles the focal length when using Leica M lenses (75mm/90mm/135mm) on a Leica M-mount camera, and also works with a variety of mirrorless cameras when combined with a mechanical adapter. The optical system is said to be repurposed from a 2x extender originally intended for the high-end cinema industry.

The optical design is made up of seven lenses in four groups, and uses high-refractive-index, low-dispersion glass. Using state-of-the-art optical design software, it is optimized to maximize contrast transmission and minimize aberrations. Special software tolerance and stray light analysis are used to avoid ghosting and reflections during the design stage.

Kits are also available for using the extender with Sony E, Canon EOS R, Nikon Z, Leica L, and Fujifilm X.

*This adapter is primarily designed for M-mount lenses with a focal length of 75mm or more, and may not be compatible with some lenses.
