Blackmagic Design announced that the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF has been added to Netflix’s exclusive list of Netflix Certified Cameras.
The official name for the Certified Cameras is “Cameras & Image Capture: Requirements and Best Practices,” and the list outlines the capture requirements that streamers need to meet in order to be certified as a Certified Camera, including dynamic range, resolution, codec and workflow compatibility.

Netflix requires that 90% of a show’s total final running time be shot with certified cameras, and this list already includes the Blackmagic Design URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 and Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K OLPF as certified systems.
Blackmagic URSA Cine is a digital film camera that introduces new advanced digital film technology that is fully integrated into post production workflows. It is the first digital film camera with built in fast high capacity storage and also includes high speed networking for on set media synchronization.
Blackmagic URSA Cine features a new large format RGBW 36x24mm image sensor with larger photosites, interchangeable lens mounts for PL, LPL, EF and Hasselblad, plus WiFi capability with SRT streaming for remote viewing by clients, and industry standard Lemo and Fischer connectors, making it ideal for high end film production.
