On February 14, 2025, Manfrotto will release 4 new tripods in the Manfrotto befree GT FB series of travel tripods. The lineup includes a tripod kit that combines a three-way head with a leveling mechanism at the bottom, and a “legs only” version (no leveling mechanism) that can be combined with your preferred tripod head. It has sufficient height and is compact when stored. The tripod design is particularly compatible with mirrorless cameras.
The tripod legs are of the travel type and can be folded up in reverse to encase the head, making it compact for easy carrying. The pipe material can be chosen from carbon or aluminum.

MKBFRTA4GTFB-3W / MKBFRTC4GTFB-3W
When using the center pole, the total extended height is 168.0cm for the aluminum pipe MKBFRTA4GTFB-3W and 165.0cm for the carbon pipe MKBFRTC4GTFB-3W. While ensuring sufficient height close to eye level, they can be folded compactly to 45.0cm and 46.0cm respectively when stored.
Both models have a payload capacity of 6kg, making them ideal for shooting with mirrorless cameras. Both models come with a 3-way head and a carrying case.
The included three-way head has a foldable pan bar, allowing the tripod itself to be stored neatly even when folded.
The moving parts have a built-in fluid mechanism that allows for smooth pan and tilt operation, and the plate can be used with the included 200PL-PRO, an Arca-Swiss compatible plate, or Manfrotto’s sliding plate for video 501PL.
The 3-way head has a built-in leveling function at the bottom, allowing you to quickly adjust the level after setting up the tripod.
The tripod spider also features an “Easy Link” 3/8″ screw that allows you to attach external accessories such as lights or monitors via a small arm.

This is a “legs only” travel tripod that does not come with a head, so you can use it with your preferred head. The upper disc of the center pole has a diameter of 40mm and a 3/8″ male thread.
*If the tripod head you are attaching is large, you may not be able to close the legs sufficiently even if you fold them in reverse.
When using the center pole, the total extended height is 152.0cm for the MTBFRTA4GTFB and 150.0cm for the MTBFRTC4GTFB, providing ample height. The legs can withstand a maximum load of 12kg, making them suitable for professional photography equipment. As these are travel-type tripods that fold the legs in the opposite direction for storage, they can be stored very compactly with a collapsed length of 43.0cm for each tripod. A tripod case is included for easy transport.
The tripod body is equipped with an “Easy Link” mechanism with a 3/8″ screw that can be used to attach small arms for fixing lights or monitors. This allows for a wide range of shooting using a variety of accessories.
