Tamron announced they are developing the 25-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III VXD G2 (Model A075) (hereafter referred to as 25-200mm F2.8-5.6 G2), a high-magnification zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras, which is scheduled for release in autumn 2025.
The Tamron 25-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III VXD G2 is the successor to the 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD (Model A071). This lens has been highly praised since its release.
Tamron, which has continued to evolve as a “pioneer of high-magnification zoom lenses,” is releasing the 25-200mm F2.8-5.6 G2 to commemorate its 75th anniversary. The wide-angle end has been expanded from 28mm to 25mm, while the telephoto end remains at 200mm, while maintaining a compact size. In addition to improved imaging performance, the high-speed, high-precision VXD linear motor focus mechanism has also improved AF speed and tracking performance.
The maximum magnification is 1:1.9 at the wide-angle end of 25mm, allowing for half-macro shooting. Despite its compact and lightweight design, it supports creative photography without compromising on performance. It is a next-generation, all-purpose, high-magnification zoom lens for a wide range of users, from beginners to professionals.
