Sony at IBC2025 Live Production
Expansion of cameras and solutions for “Networked Live” that enables efficient live production
Strengthening system camera solutions to meet the latest needs
In recent years, there has been a growing need for space-saving operation in sports broadcasts due to restrictions on filming locations. The multi-purpose camera, “HDC-P50A,” is a small, lightweight system camera that meets this need.

The camera itself supports IP transmission using SMPTE ST 2110, which is increasingly being adopted in the broadcasting industry, and can also be connected to a camera control unit, allowing for flexible operation in shooting environments where the camera is installed far from the control room. An update scheduled for September 2025 will enable 4K double-speed high frame rate shooting on the camera alone, without connecting to a camera control unit.
Additionally, the company will release the camera extension adapter “HDCE-500” (scheduled for March 2026). This device is compatible with the system cameras HDC-5000 series, HDC-3000 series, and “HDC-P50A.” By connecting it between the camera and camera control unit, it supplies power to the camera body and converts from optical fiber to single-mode fiber, enabling transmission distances of up to 10 km. When connected to the “HDC-P50A,” power and video signal transmission are possible with a single SMPTE cable, allowing for more flexible operation.
Networked Live
“Networked Live” is a solution that enables more efficient live production by utilizing resources such as production equipment and people in a hybrid manner, regardless of whether the environment is on-premise or cloud. At the venue, products and solutions that support efficient live production and remote production will be exhibited.
