Thypoch announced the upcoming release of the Type II (crescent-shaped focus tab) rangefinder-coupled lenses for Leica M mounts, the Simera 28mm f/1.4 ASPH Type II and Simera 35mm f/1.4 ASPH Type II
Thypoch Simera Type II Common Features
Cutting-edge optical technology
The sophisticated optical structure, incorporating a floating design, achieves excellent imaging performance despite its compact size, even at close range, delivering sharp, detailed images right to the edges of the screen.
High resolution with reduced aberrations and beautiful bokeh
These new lens employs an advanced optical design that combines aspherical, high-refractive, and ED lens elements. Even at an open aperture of F1.4, it delivers sharp, clear images to every corner of the image, effectively suppressing chromatic and spherical aberrations. The 14 aperture blades also produce soft, beautiful bokeh, enabling a dreamlike depiction while highlighting the subject.
Powered by Visifocus
The camera is equipped with Visifocus (a visual depth-of-field scale) that visualizes the depth of field according to the shooting distance. The scale uses red dot marks for improved visibility. This allows you to intuitively read the front and rear focus range according to the shooting distance and aperture setting, supporting quick focusing.
Improved focus ring operability
The focus ring features a crescent-shaped focus tab, allowing for comfortable and smooth focus control with your fingertips.
A fusion of classic design and modern operability
The robust all-metal body and classical appearance give it a distinctive presence. The aperture ring is engraved with the symbols of the sun and moon, and can be switched between click and non-click modes. This allows for smooth adjustments and allows for operability tailored to your preferences.
Supports switching between rangefinder and EVF
The minimum focusing distance is 0.4m, allowing you to get close to the subject and capture sharp details. Furthermore, it supports rangefinder focusing, and by adding a slight resistance at 0.7m on the focus ring, you can intuitively grasp the distance at which you need to switch from the rangefinder to the EVF.
Simera 28mm f/1.4 ASPH. Type II

The Thypoch Simera 28mm f/1.4 ASPH. Type II takes advantage of its wide angle of view to capture the background in portraits, landscapes, and architectural photography, beautifully expressing delicate bokeh, rich gradation, and natural colors. The 14-blade aperture produces beautiful, natural bokeh and artistic light effects, and the minimum focusing distance of 0.4m expands the expressive power of close-up photography.
The focus ring also features a crescent-shaped focus tab, allowing for comfortable and smooth focusing with your fingertips. It combines operability and imaging performance, delivering sharp images without losing softness, excellent chromatic aberration correction, and smooth bokeh. Its imaging quality, reminiscent of the Leica f/1.4 series, meets the needs of the high-resolution era while retaining a warmth in the image, enabling a wide range of expression from spectacular scenes to the finest details.
