White Mist reduces the contrast between highlights and shadows, giving the overall image a paler color tone and a slightly softer depiction. White Mist No. 05 has half the softening effect of White Mist No. 1. The 05 (zerogo) stands for 0.5. Because it has a very weak softening effect, it can produce a moderate diffusion effect when shooting in backlit conditions. It has the effect of softening skin tones, making it a recommended filter for everyday portrait photography.
