Zhiyun announced the release of the following products: the ZHIYUN “MOLUS X200,” a compact COB light that achieves a high output of 200W without the need for an external control box, the “MOLUS X200RGB,” which supports full color, and a “COMBO model” that comes with dedicated accessories.
What is the ZHIYUN MOLUS X200 ?
The ZHIYUN MOLUS X200 series achieves significantly lighter and more compact designs compared to conventional lights in the same power output range, thanks to its unique cooling system and streamlined, minimalist design. It reduces cumbersome wiring and provides powerful illumination in any location, from studios to outdoor shoots.
ZHIYUN MOLUS X200 Features
Overwhelming 200W output and a smart design with an integrated controller.
Despite its palm-sized casing, it delivers a powerful 200W output. Its most distinctive feature is the integration of the control panel, including the display and dial, into the light’s main body.
Battery expansion hub (COMBO model) that delivers maximum output even outdoors.
In addition to long studio shoots using the included AC adapter, it also supports power supply via a V-mount battery (sold separately). By using the expansion hub included with the COMBO model and connecting two V-mount batteries, it becomes possible to achieve a maximum output of 200W even outdoors or in mobile environments where there are no power outlets.
High mobility thanks to its ultra-compact and lightweight body.
The unit weighs approximately 800g (X200) / 810g (X200RGB), which is exceptionally light for a 200W class light. Its thickness is also kept to a mere 75.5mm, making it ideal for installation in limited spaces and for long-distance transport.
Efficient cooling with the DynaVort Cooling System
Employing ZHIYUN’s proprietary electronic back pressure cooling system, this device maintains a stable 200W output despite its compact body, thanks to its fluid dynamics-based design. Its slim profile and ultra-quiet operation make it ideal for use in recording environments.
Professional-grade lighting and versatile color control.
It boasts high color reproduction capabilities with a CRI of 95 or higher and a TLCI of 97 or higher. The RGB model offers a wide range of color temperature adjustments from 2500K to 10000K, as well as full-color lighting, supporting all kinds of creative expression.
Smart wireless control with the ZY Vega app
Using the dedicated “ZY Vega” app, multiple lights can be controlled simultaneously from a smartphone. Color temperature, brightness, and color settings can be adjusted wirelessly and instantly, significantly improving the efficiency of shooting with a small team.
