SG-image, on August 21 2026, announced a new silver model for its Micro Four Thirds version of the SG-image AF 25mm F1.8 lens, in addition to the currently available black model, and released it on August 21, 2026 (Friday).
Additionally, the “SG-image Ultra Slim UV Filter MC-32” (filter diameter: 52mm), compatible with both the SG-image “AF 25mm F1.8” and “AF 35mm F2.2” series and usable with the included lens hood, will be available for pre-order.
SG-image AF 25mm F1.8 Micro Four Thirds
The SG-image AF 25mm F1.8 Micro Four Thirds model is a large-aperture prime lens with a natural standard angle of view close to human vision, equivalent to approximately 50mm in 35mm format.
The newly added silver model features a metal barrel and an appearance designed to complement a variety of camera bodies, from classic styles to modern designs.
It features a slim and lightweight design, weighing approximately 130g and measuring approximately 31mm in length. Its bright f/1.8 aperture and 9-blade circular aperture produce soft and natural bokeh. It’s suitable for a wide range of photography, including portraits, table photography, and street photography. The exterior features a metal lens barrel, and a dedicated metal lens hood is included as standard.

“SG-image Ultra Slim UV Filter MC-32”
The “SG-image Ultra Slim UV Filter MC-32” is a 52mm diameter slim UV filter compatible with both the SG-image “AF 25mm F1.8” and “AF 35mm F2.2” series lenses. With a thickness of 2.3mm and a weight of 7.4g, it features a slim and lightweight design. This works in conjunction with the included lens hood on compatible lenses.
The filter uses B270 optical glass and features a multi-layer nano-coating with 16 layers on each side, for a total of 32 layers. With a reflectivity of 0.1% and a light transmittance of 99.9%, it protects the front of the lens and minimizes the impact on image quality. It will be available for pre-order exclusively at the 2ndfocus online store, with a suggested retail price of 3,800 yen (tax included).
