Nikon Corporation announced the beginning of development of the “NIKKOR Z CINEMA T1.9 VV” series of cinema lenses with the aim of providing high-quality solutions to the film production, high-end production, and creator markets. The series will consist of a total of nine lenses, including the “NIKKOR Z CINEMA 50mm T1.9 VV” which is imaged above.
The Z CINEMA T1.9 VV series enriches the visual expression of the “Z CINEMA” series with a new design philosophy that delivers the image quality demanded by the cinema industry and practicality for professional use. Furthermore, this series is the first NIKKOR lens to cover an image circle larger than that of a full-frame sensor, specifically the V-RAPTOR [X] VV sensor * . It also features a high-precision autofocus mechanism to support the creator’s workflow.
Nikon aims to further expand the possibilities of visual expression and contribute to the development of visual culture in the cinema domain. The company says they hope that people will look forward to the new synergies that will be created by Nikon and RED in the future.
