Sigma Corporation announced a complete renewal of its WR Protector line of filters, designed for Sigma interchangeable lenses. The entire lineup has been completely redesigned to further improve performance, and the filters now feature an appearance and packaging that conforms to the company’s new visual identity.
Sigma plans on releasing four types of protective filters on November 5th, 2026 (Thursday):
- “Sigma WR Ceramic Protector PTC-21,” a ceramic protective filter boasting high impact resistance;
- “WR Protector + UV PUV-21,” a protective filter with UV protection and water-repellent/stain-resistant properties;
- “Protector LPT-21,” a basic protective filter;
- “WR Circular PL Filter CPL-21,” a circular PL filter with water-repellent and stain-resistant properties.
These will be sold exclusively through the Sigma online shop.

Completely new design
With this renewal, the entire lineup has been completely redesigned to further minimize the impact on image quality while ensuring comfortable use. By reviewing the surface treatment of the filter frame, internal reflections reduced compared to conventional products. Additionally the design achieves a much thinner profile in the large-diameter 95mm and 105mm sizes.

SIGMA WR Protector filters feature an appearance and packaging that conforms to the company’s new visual identity announced in 2025.
Compatibility verified with all Sigma lenses.
Compatibility with all Sigma lenses has been verified, allowing you to shoot without worrying about vignetting even when using ultra-wide-angle lenses. Furthermore, despite its slim design, the lens cap securely attaches, ensuring worry-free use.
