GODOX announced the new C100, the company’s first viewfinder camera, on October 16, 2026. This compact camera features a large, transparent viewfinder and can be used not only for still image and video shooting but also as an exposure meter.
The lineup includes two versions: the “C100 Viewfinder Camera” (camera unit only) and the “C100KIT Viewfinder Camera Kit” (which includes a microSD card, strap, and other accessories)
GODOX C100 -Shooting through a transparent viewfinder.
The most distinctive feature of the GODOX C100 is its large, transparent 60.8 x 47.8 mm viewfinder. Unlike typical digital cameras where you view an image on an LCD screen, you compose your shots by directly checking the actual subject through the viewfinder.

The transparent display overlays information such as frame guides for composition, exposure information, battery level, and shooting mode. With a light transmittance of approximately 50%, you can shoot while checking your surroundings.
The device measures 104.1 x 71.7 x 19.1 mm and weighs approximately 65g. Its slim, palm-sized body packs all the necessary shooting functions, making it easy to carry around for everyday snapshots.
Furthermore, it does not have a function to play back captured photos and videos on the camera’s viewfinder. It is characterized by a shooting style that allows you to concentrate on looking at the subject and the act of pressing the shutter button itself, rather than checking the image immediately after shooting.
Use as a standalone light meter.
The GODOX C100 can be used not only as a camera for taking still images and videos, but also as a standalone light meter.
The metering system is center-weighted metering, measuring light in approximately 25% of the central area of the transparent viewfinder. It is also intended for use in combination with cameras that do not have a built-in light meter, such as film cameras.

In exposure meter mode, the ISO sensitivity can be manually set within the range of 100 to 800. The aperture range is F1.0 to F64, and the shutter speed ranges from 1 second to 1/8000 second.
The aperture value and shutter speed are linked; setting one to a desired value automatically calculates the other value for proper exposure based on the metering results. These are setting ranges for use as an exposure meter and do not represent the aperture mechanism of the photographic lens.
Switch between three modes: photo, video, and metering.
The power switch on the unit also serves as a switch for switching between photo mode, video mode, and metering mode. You can select the mode according to your needs, and the simple configuration eliminates the need for complex operations.
In both photo and video modes, you can choose from four aspect ratios: 16:9, 4:3, 3:2, and 1:1. You can change the composition to suit the subject and purpose of your shot.
Captured data can be transferred to a smartphone or PC using the included USB-C cable. If you have a compatible smartphone, you can view and share photos and videos without needing a PC.

The camera uses a TF (microSD) card with a maximum capacity of 128GB as recording media. Since the camera body does not have built-in storage for saving captured data, a separate microSD card is required for shooting.
The built-in battery provides approximately 1.5 hours of continuous use. A USB-C port is used for charging and data transfer.
Main unit only or kit that includes a 32GB card.
The lineup consists of two types: the “C100,” which includes the main unit and a USB-C cable, and the “C100KIT,” which adds a 32GB microSD card, a strap, and a storage pouch.

The standalone model is designed for users who already own a microSD card, while the kit model is for users who want to have all the necessary recording media and portable accessories for shooting in one package.
