Sony plans to release firmware version 3.0 for its PTZ auto-framing cameras, “SRG-A40” and “SRG-A12,” in July 2025. This update will support functions such as “tracking range setting,” “fixed angle of view position,” “eye gap effect,” and “composition presets,” which will further evolve AI-based automatic shooting.
Sony SRG-A40/A12 Firmware Version 3.0 Updates:
Advanced AI-based automatic shooting
Tracking Range
You can set the range in which the PTZ auto framing function will be performed, and when the subject leaves the set range, the angle of view will return to the home position. By setting the tracking range, you can also exclude unintended subjects.
Fixed angle of view
It can automatically switch between tracking people and focusing on the desired angle of view when shooting. When the subject enters the set fixed angle of view position, PTZ auto framing pauses and the camera automatically moves to the set position and holds it there.
Eye-opening effect
Adjust the composition so that there is natural space in the subject’s line of sight. The amount of space can be adjusted in three steps.
Composition Presets
Three compositions can be registered and recalled for PTZ auto framing. “Full body,” “Upper body,” and “Close-up” are registered by default to buttons 1, 2, and 3. Compositions can be recalled using the assignable buttons on the included infrared remote control.
