7Artisans announced the new 50mm F1.8 AF interchangeable lens for the L mount, designed for Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma BF cameras. This lens was previously released for the E Mount, and subsequently the Z mount.
The 7Artisans 50mm F1.8 AF is a standard prime lens for full-frame sensors that achieves excellent image quality. It uses a lens configuration of 11 elements in 9 groups, including two aspherical lenses, one ED lens, and two special lenses with high refractive index, to achieve excellent sharpness and contrast in all areas of the image.
The bright maximum aperture maintains the shutter speed and reduces blur even in low-light environments such as indoors, making it possible to take pictures that make the most of the bokeh that beautifully highlights the subject.
The newly developed STM (stepping motor) enables quieter and more precise control of the larger, heavier lens group. Face detection/eye detection AF is supported, allowing you to capture the subject’s facial expression clearly when taking portraits.
Intuitive aperture control from the aperture ring and automatic aperture control by AE are possible. It also comes with an AF/MF switch for excellent operability.
The 50mm F1.8 AF uses a metal lens barrel with a notably nice texture. Firmware updates are possible by connecting to a PC.
