Portkeys has announced their latest on-camera touchscreen monitor, the PT5 III. The Portkeys PT5 III offers all the professional monitoring features you would expect, plus some unique tools and features, such as a color grader, crop tool, image flip, and more, all at an affordable price.
The Portkeys PT5 III is an ultra-lightweight on-camera monitor made from ABS and PC, weighing just 154.5g and measuring 135.1 x 82.5 x 22mm, so it’s barely noticeable when attached to the camera.
Portkeys PT5 III Features
This new monitor features a 5.4-inch 8-bit touchscreen display, boasting a resolution of 1920×1152, a peak brightness of 800nit, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a wide 178° viewing angle.
Due to its touchscreen interface, the PT5 III has a sleek design with only a single on/off button, a switch to lock the screen/UI, and a battery removal button located on the top of the monitor.
On the left side of the PT5 III, there is one HDMI video input port that supports resolutions up to 4K DCI (30p), a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 3.5mm microphone input. The HDMI output port that supports resolutions up to 1080P60 is located on the right side of the monitor. Above the HDMI output port, there is one USB-C port that can be used to externally power the monitor via a power bank or V-mount/Gold mount battery etc.
The rear of the Portkeys PT5 III features an integrated battery plate that is compatible with Sony NP-F style batteries. With a low power consumption of just 7W, a compact and lightweight Sony NP-F 550 battery can power the monitor for over 2 hours. For longer usage, the USB-C port can be used to connect the PT5 III to an external power source. Additionally, there is a USB-A port at the bottom of the monitor that can be used to perform firmware updates or upload custom LUTs.
The Portkeys PT5 III features two 1/4″-20 mounting points on the bottom and right side of the monitor, equipped with locating pins for mounting to a camera, camera rig, tripod, or gimbal.
