Tamron announced the release of the 16-30mm F2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Model A064) large-aperture ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless single-lens cameras for Sony E-mount on July 31, 2025, and for Nikon Z-mount on August 22. Price depends on the mount; check the Tamron Shop for details.
The 17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A046), which has been well received in the market, has evolved to become the second generation “G2” model, the Tamron 16-30mm F2.8 Di III VXD G2. While expanding the zoom ratio, it maintains a lightweight and compact design and achieves high image quality.
In addition, the AF performance has been improved and the lens design has been updated to the latest version for improved operability. It also supports TAMRON Lens UtilityTM, which allows you to assign practical functions for video and photography to the lens. The 16-30mm F2.8 G2 inherits the mobility and practicality of the first model while further expanding the possibilities of wide-angle photography. You can fully enjoy the unique expression of an ultra-wide angle lens.
With the introduction of the 16-30mm F2.8 G2, the lineup of the second generation “G2” big three lenses is now complete, along with the existing standard zoom 28-75mm F2.8 G2 (Model A063) and telephoto zoom 70-180mm F2.8 G2 (Model A065). * Seamlessly covering focal lengths from 16mm to 180mm, it is suited to any scene. The G2 big three series is highly portable and convenient.
Note the 70-180mm F2.8 G2 for Nikon Z mount is not yet available (as of June 2025)
