Sigma Corporation announced the launch of two new lenses, the Sigma 28-45mm T2 FF and the Sigma 28-105mm T3 FF, as part of the AF Cine Line, autofocus lenses, added as part of the new the Sigma Cine Lens.
The Sigma 28-45mm T2 FF lens will be released in November 2025, and the Sigma 28-105mm T3 FF in spring 2026.
The AF Cine Line is Sigma’s first AF-compatible cine lens series that will revolutionize video production. It inherits the high image quality of the Sigma Art line optical system, and also boasts high-precision AF with excellent tracking, as well as the functionality required in cinema production. It is said to be compatible with shooting styles and on-location environments that were difficult to achieve with conventional still and cine lenses.
Advanced optical design and outstanding imaging performance
The optical systems of the Sigma 28-45mm T2 FF and Sigma 28-105mm T3 FF are based on the designs of the 28-45mm F1.8 DG DN | Art and 28-105mm F2.8 DG DN | Art, which are highly regarded as still lenses. By condensing the lens design experience and latest design technology that Sigma has cultivated so far, as well as the advanced production technology of the Aizu factory, Sigma’s only production base, it provides high resolution and beautiful bokeh regardless of focal length or focus position, and a sharp look that suppresses flare and ghosting to the utmost.
Mechanical design and operability as a full-fledged cine lens
While inheriting the imaging performance and reliability of the Sigma Art line, it combines cinema-style mechanisms and operability, and is optimized to meet the specifications required for professional video production. It is equipped with specifications that meet the demands of professionals, such as a finite rotation focus ring, an industry-standard 0.8M pitch gear, and a clickless aperture ring.
An AF system that achieves excellent tracking and quiet operation
These cinematic lenses come equipped with a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), it reliably supports photographers in a variety of environments, capturing intense movements in action scenes, quick focus changes when shooting with a gimbal or handheld, and unpredictable moments in documentaries.
