Course A: Camera & Lens Course – Forefront of cameras and lenses for broadcasting, movies, and one-man creators
2022.10.27
Focus on new products in a wide range of genres of cameras and lenses
A course around new products of cameras and lenses. This year, new products from a wide range of genres, such as broadcasting, cinema, and individual creators, will appear. Please pay attention to the exhibition of new products that have completely changed from the trend of full size and 6K / 8K in recent years.
01 Interchangeable lens for video production “SIGMA CINE LENS” 65mm
Sigma [#8502]
This year’s SIGMA booth introduces the latest information on SIGMA CINE LENS under the theme of “Be practical.” The 11 Prime line-up will be on display, and the company’s cine lenses, including the movie “Top Gun: Maverick” that used the special FF High Speed Prime Line, will be introduced, along with a camera that is ideal for single-lens video. A lens trial corner is planned. Notable products are the FF Classic Prime Line 65mm and FF High Speed Prime Line 65mm, which will be released in January 2023.
The FF Classic Prime Line series achieves both classic image expression with flare and ghosts, while the FF High Speed Prime Line series achieves optimal optical performance for high-resolution shooting and unifies usability with the existing lineup. It features an optical system designed exclusively for cinema lenses.
02 Full-frame prime lens “Leitz Hugo”
Santomo [#8505]
Leitz products were exhibited at the Sanyu booth. The Hugo, built on the popularity of the Leitz M0.8 series announced in September 2022, will be on display. It’s small, fast, lightweight, and designed to give full play to the character of the Leica M lenses and to take as close-up shots as possible. The initial set of 7 full-frame lenses is T1.5 from 21mm to 90mm, with 18mm and 135mm focal length lenses coming soon. A 50mm T1.0 lens is also available.
At the same booth, we plan to exhibit Elsie, which has just started selling, and Leitz Zoom and Leitz Prime, which will continue in 2021.
03 Super 35mm format Cinema Line camera “FX30”
Sony Marketing [#7416]
Sony’s booth will showcase cloud production platforms, on-premises cloud live production, and Cinema Line cameras. Among them, I recommend the Cinema Line camera “FX30”.
Equipped with the look and operability common to Cinema Line, it supports high-resolution 4K recording with 14+ stops of wide latitude and 6K oversampling. It also supports dual base ISO, breathing correction, and focus map, making it not only the first unit for young creators, but also suitable for use as a sub unit and in scenes where mobility is required.
04 8K VV Cinema Camera “V-RAPTOR XL 8K VV”
RAID [#7202]
RED Digital Cinema’s 5 cinema cameras from V-Raptor XL to KOMODO, Teradek’s Bolt series, SmallHD’s 4K monitor and Smart5 (5 inch) monitor will be exhibited.
The highlight of the company’s booth this year is the exhibition of the V-Raptor series “V-RAPTOR XL 8K VV” (hereafter: V-RAPTOR XL). It is an integrated model of V-RAPTOR, the same as DSMC2’s RANGER, and features an interchangeable mount and a built-in ND filter. The compact and modular V-RAPTOR body is equipped with a multi-format 8K sensor, enabling 8K large format and 6K S35 shooting. Even when combined with the S35 lens, you can always shoot in 4K or higher image quality. The sensor boasts the highest recording dynamic range and clean shadow performance of any camera from the company.
05 RUN GUN Camcorder “HC-X2”
Panasonic Connect [#6316]
The main exhibit at the Panasonic booth is the KAIROS series, but video cameras are still on display. In particular, the exhibition of the video camera “HC-X2” with a 1.0-type MOS sensor, which will be released on October 20, 2022, is noteworthy.
By adopting a 1.0 type MOS sensor and supporting 4K60P 10bit recording, 4K60P recording with wide dynamic range and low illumination resistance is realized. The wide focal range of the 20x optical zoom allows you to get close to the subject from a wide angle of 24.5mm, making it possible to use it in a variety of fields. In addition, it supports advanced production flows such as V-Log/V-Gamut and HLG recording, which realize a wide dynamic range of 13 stops, and is equipped with SDI and LAN terminals, making it possible to use it for a wider range of applications.
06 Broadcast zoom lens “FUJINON HZK25-1000mm”
Fujifilm [#6315]
The prototype of the newly developed “HZK25-1000mm” will be shown. Also, at the company’s booth, the “Premista series” featuring a clear and natural look, the digital camera “X series” and other various video solutions, as well as multi-screen projection and portraits with the super single focus projector “Z8000” We will exhibit products that bring together optical technology such as projection.
The HZK25-1000mm is a PL-mount box-type lens that has optical performance exceeding 4K and uses a dual format method that supports two large sensors. Equipped with an image circle equivalent to Super 35mm at normal times. By switching the built-in dual format expander to “full size”, the image circle becomes about 1.5 times larger and supports sensors up to 41.3 mm diagonal. At this time, the focal length is shifted 1.5x in the telephoto direction, so it can be used as a pure x1.5x extender when combined with a Super 35mm camera.
Equipped with an optical image stabilization mechanism for the first time as a box lens equipped with a PL mount. It is said that not only the shaking coming from the ground but also the shaking caused by the operation at hand is properly corrected. In addition, it supports conventional FUJINON broadcasting accessories. In combination with the zoom demand “ERD-50A” and the focus demand “EPD-51A”, it is possible to assign the user’s favorite function to the function switch.
In addition to conventional functions such as return and expander switching, you can also operate the anti-vibration ON/OFF and adjust the back focus at your fingertips. For cameramen, it can be operated in a familiar style, so we can expect a smooth introduction to existing operations.
