This year’s photo contest winners at CP+ 2024 have been announced. The world premier of the ZOOMS Japan 2024 Contest will be showcased.
The Grand Prize Winner is Momo Yamanishi’s “Kingdom of Light.” The runner-up prize is “New Nature,” by Yoshimune Komase.
The award-winning works will be exhibited at CP+ 2024, which will be held at Pacifico Yokohama from February 22nd to 25th. These photos will also be exhibited at the “Salon de la Photo” photo and video equipment exhibition to be held in Paris in October.
In addition, the winners will be invited to Paris during that event to interact with people involved in the French photography world.

CP+ 2024 Photo Contest Grand Prix: Momo Yamanishi: Kingdom of Light
Momo Yamanishi Bio:
Born in Osaka in 1995. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Crafts, majoring in metal casting. From a childhood memories of mountain climbing, Yamanishi joined a mountaineering club during at school, climbing mountains in Japan, Alaska, Nepal, and Pakistan. These experiences are expressed through metalworks and photography.
I am very happy to have been selected for the Grand Prix, comments Yamanishi. Thank you very much for giving me such a valuable opportunity. In a world where technology and AI have developed so much that humans no longer necessarily need to create things, I would like to continue to work on my creations while valuing the question, “Why do I create works?”
CP+ 2024 Photo Contest Runner-up: Yoshimune Komase: NEW NATURE
Yoshimune Komase Bio:
Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1987. In 2015, won an honorable mention at the New Cosmos of Photography. In 2017, a solo exhibition “blackbox” was held at Sezon art Gallery. His major group exhibitions include a 2017 3days EXHIBITION Sezon art Gallery and 2016 LUMIX MEETS BEYOND 2020 by Japanese photographers.
I am very happy to have been selected as the runner-up, says Komase. The award-winning works have a theme of nature that has been touched by humans. Can we really call this place where warm wastewater from a sewage treatment plant flows into nature? I look forward to sharing images with everyone through photography, a medium that mixes subjectivity and objectivity.
