01 EIZO (#7413)
30.5-inch HDR reference monitor “ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG1”
At the EIZO booth, the newly released HDR reference monitor ” ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG1 (hereinafter referred to as CG1)” will be exhibited for the first time in Japan. The company will propose an advanced HDR production environment centered around the CG1 for post-production and broadcasting stations. There will also be a demonstration of how to use the API * of the network color management solution “ColorNavigator Network,” which was made available free of charge in August. EIZO will be showcasing its next-generation color management solution.
*By utilizing the ColorNavigator Network API, you can develop a program that can link with the various functions of ColorNavigator Network from an external system and centrally manage multiple ColorEdge monitors. For example, you can instantly obtain information such as serial numbers and usage time of multiple ColorEdge monitors through the AI chat service, reducing the amount of work required for monitor management.
At the company’s booth, a darkroom will be set up so that visitors can experience the power of the new HDR reference monitor, and the display performance of the CG1 will be fully experienced in a darkroom that simulates an actual color grading environment. The company will also be proposing a 4K HDR color grading environment using the CG1 and the video editing software DaVinci Resolve.
Among the ColorEdge series for video production, the CG1 is a reference monitor suited to color grading work, which involves making the final color adjustments to content. While inheriting the various dedicated video production features of previous models, it pursues faithful image quality befitting a reference monitor, and achieves high display performance through EIZO’s unique algorithms. It is said to provide strong support for post-production work for not only SDR but also HDR video.
■CG1’s evolution points (appeal points)
This is the first monitor from the company to support
the standard “SMPTE ST 2110,” which defines the method of transmitting video data over IP networks. It can handle uncompressed video sent over IP networks, helping to build a more efficient production workflow.
Supports HDMI transmission mode FRLSupports
HDMI transmission mode FRL (Fixed Rate Link). When connected via HDMI, it supports 4K resolution and 12-bit input, allowing for high-resolution images with smoother gradations. In addition, an ultra-high-speed HDMI cable that supports FRL is included as standard.
EIZO’s unique algorithm has further improved display performance from the previous model. In
pursuit of a display that is faithful to the data suitable for a reference monitor, the image quality in high and low brightness areas and the viewing angle characteristics from an oblique direction have been improved from the previous model, the CG3146. It is said that it minimizes color changes due to viewing position and angle, and reproduces stable color tones from every corner of the screen, even when multiple people are viewing the monitor.
The housing is made of lightweight
industrial aluminum, making it 34% lighter than the previous model CG3146. It also comes with a handle on the back for easy transport, reducing the burden on the user when setting it up.
■ Main features of CG1
A calibration sensor capable of accurately measuring a high brightness of 1000cd/m2 is
built into the housing . By using the free dedicated color management software “ColorNavigator 7”, you can easily calibrate the display according to the target such as brightness, color temperature, gamma (EOTF), color gamut, etc., and the setting according to the desired camera log. In addition, it automatically performs regular readjustment, correcting the deviation of brightness and chromaticity due to aging, and always maintaining the correct HDR display.
- High brightness of 1000cd/m2 and high contrast of 1,000,000:1 allow accurate display of HDR images
- Supports both Hybrid Log Gamma and PQ HDR-specific gamma (EOTF)
- Wide color gamut that faithfully reproduces digital cinema standards DCI-P3 and BT.2020
- Equipped with a total of four SDI terminals: two input/output terminals supporting up to 12G-SDI and two input/output terminals supporting up to 3G-SDI, allowing direct connection to a camera
- Equipped with one HDMI and one DisplayPort terminal, it also supports video formats. HDMI input supports up to 4:4:4 12bit at 50/60p, and DisplayPort input supports up to 4:4:4 10bit at 50/60p.
- Equipped with Sync Signal function that automatically switches color settings
- Equipped with a Pixel Inspection function to prevent rework due to setting errors
- Equipped with functions dedicated to video production, such as zoom function, out-of-gamut warning function, and brightness warning function
- Adjustment dials on the front of the unit allow smooth and precise adjustment of monitor settings
02 AJA/Vizrt/iodyne/Kiloview/GB Labs (#4512)
Video mixing tool “Vizrt TriCaster Vizion”
TriCaster is a brand of editing system with a history spanning decades, but now they are introducing a completely new TriCaster. The TriCaster Vizion is the top of the TriCaster series, featuring new production tools and extremely high versatility. The HP-Z4-based TriCaster Vizion will be unveiled at the show. Vizrt is also introducing the TriCaster Mini S, the first software-only TriCaster and the easiest way to get started with TriCaster. We look forward to seeing this one on display.
03 Samsung SSD (#5501)
Samsung T9 Portable SSD
Samsung Portable SSD T9There are an increasing number of cinema cameras and switchers that can record directly to external media with USB-C, and one of the recommended media from many manufacturers is Samsung’s Portable SSD series. Samsung is a regular on the recommended media lists of Blackmagic Design, Panasonic, and Sigma. The Samsung T9 is the latest version of this portable SSD series, and uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface. Come to the booth and experience the data transfer time.
04 Grass Valley (#7309)
