
Fujifilm Corporation has released a firmware roadmap for expanding the applications of its first dedicated video production camera, the “FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55” (hereinafter: GFX ETERNA 55). The firmware can be downloaded from the company’s support page.

Ver.1.10 (Released July 15, 2026)
Improvement points
- Offers improved durability for compatible memory cards, as well as enhanced camera stability and operability under certain conditions.

Version 1.20 and later (scheduled for sometime in 2026)
New features and improvements
- Supports in-camera playback of MXF (Material eXchange Format) files.
- Camera settings can be backed up and restored via a dedicated app.
- The scope of the improvement in firmware Ver. 1.04 regarding video latency that occurs when connecting an external monitor with an SDI/HDMI cable will be gradually expanded.
- Video footage shot in 4:3 open gate format can now be displayed on a monitor with desqueezed mode.
Version 1.30 and later (planned for sometime in 2027)
New features and improvements
- The degree of freedom in adjusting the number of stops when setting the filter density of an “electronic variable ND filter” is improved.
- The camera automatically adjusts the ND filter density while maintaining iris, shutter angle, and sensitivity, enabling optimal exposure settings.
- Remote control standard: Supports remote devices compliant with LANC (Local Application Control Bus System).
- By operating the “multifunction dial” located on the camera body and handle, it becomes possible to remotely control “Duvo series” lenses.
